While there is no experience like life experience, I am a graduate of the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. I launched Eat Cake! in 2003 after leaving a career in growing start-ups within the telecom industry. That career brought me from Denver to Boston and finally north to Newburyport where Doug and I have made our home. I left the telecom world with my sights set on transforming my favorite hobby into my profession. Eat Cake! was born from a true passion for baking and a tremendous desire to do what I loved best. What a revelation: Do what you love! I'd probably said that to myself a million times before I finally took that step off the high dive into the deep end of the pool and started the business out of a tiny home kitchen - ideal for me, my stand mixer and my oven. It quickly became a study in efficiency which meant two things: 1.) we needed to move, and 2.) Eat Cake! was turning out to be much more than a hobby!
Today, the business is thriving and has become known for exceptionally sumptuous creations that satisfy the most relentless perfectionist cravings.
